I have to quote from Lawrence's description of this photo for everyone to fully appreciate the spectacular moment he has captured: "This ice formation in Cameron Creek Canyon in Waterton National Park caught my attention while photographing other parts of the creek and falls. It was about eight inches off of the water and seemed to just float there... adding a little water blur with the long exposure gave it the feeling that it was roaring upstream like a hovercraft."

I love photographers who broaden their artwork with appropriately used effects. This photograph is a composite of three, overlayed on one another, and it enhances both the color and the overall mood of the image perfectly. You can really see the storm rolling in. Some shots just invoke a feeling of wonder when you see them . This photo is one of those pictures . I love the warmth and excellent composition in this image . I do not usually linger long on photos of this type but this one just grabbed me ! The details and indeed the entire piece are amazing to me !! You Marchelino , have captured the spirit of the buildings and given me new insight on the character of man made structures and for this I thank you !! Congratulations on being my POTD .

I love this photo, shot on the first day of the year 2007. The sun, the sky, the ocean shows off in perfect glory. I love the stripes of reflections in the ocean and the large wave rolling in, while the sun is setting. Perfect for the new year, as we all welcome it!!

I find this red Gerbera Daisy so refreshing today, a grey day in my neighborhood. Red, the color of love and passion, is hard to photograph on any flower, but beautifully accomplished on this daisy. The details and the focus are wonderful, also, and so are the words. This Gerbera Daisy seems to carry a promise of a great New Year and a wonderful Spring and we are pleased to feature it.
